Adobe Premiere CS4 Speech Search

This could be a big deal. I don't see why there's not been more noise made about this. I can see massive potential for this, though I'm not sure it's enough to get me off Final Cut.

Maybe it's just not very reliable? I remember playing with speech recognition briefly on my Mac a couple of years ago, and it was pretty sucky. Another downside is that for the transcribing to happen it does a re-render. That sucks too. But this sort of thing can only get better. Am I the only person a little bit excited about this? Or is someone going to tell me about some plugin, or Avid having this feature for the last decade or something?!

Another thing I liked about my trial of Premiere CS3 was that AU plugin interfaces are directly accessable (unlike in Final Cut where you have to go to Soundtrack Pro). Ultimately though, CS3 crashed once which was once too often for me (I've never had Final Cut crash on me - though, perhaps that's because it doesn't access AU interfaces?! Soundtrack Pro bugs out quite a lot, which is why I do as much in the NLE as possible .... Sony, where is Vegas for the Mac, hrmph!) I'm guessing the CS4 version will also have access to AU interfaces. Guess I'll have to find time to download the trial and find out!
